An elegant old Georgian-Palladian home, Drayton Hall has not only setting and stories on its side, it also has over two centuries of American history. Careful efforts have preserved this plantation by the Ashley River for the benefit of the public, who can now visit this grand building as part of a guided tour and enjoy self-guided strolls along river or out to the African-American cemetary on the estate's grounds.
